The Airflite was new to Icon’s full-face helmet collection in early 2018 and (gimmicky extended visor aside) offers decent value.
Priced at a fraction over ￡200, the Airflite is quiet and has two easily operated chunky forehead vents and an internal vent on the chin.
There’s also a drop-down internal sun visor which is controlled by a neat lever located behind the left-hand visor mechanism.
Changing the visor is easy too, simply pop off the sturdy sidepods and raise the visor until it releases, then reverse the process to refit.
Although the visor doesn’t come equipped with a Pinlock insert, I have never experienced any form of misting; regardless of the temperature or weather conditions.
Unfortunately, this helmet did take a long time to bed-in and only after around 600 miles did it stop feeling like it was crushing my head.
The looks are also a bit different, but I quite like the Icon’s style.
Tested for: Three months, covering 2000 miles
